Evelyn - 2 Years Old

I'm totally slacking in the blogging department lately. I'm getting too spoiled by free time and I need to shape up and get to work! Evelyn is such a sweetheart and I took her pictures a little while ago. There's no excuse for why these are getting up late but better late then never right. My goal is to get on track and create a schedule for my editing and blogging.

So, I'll stop my rambling about being a slacker and I'll get right too it. Here are my favorites from Evelyn's photo shoot.

"To Do" Lists

Some of you probably already know this, but I like to be extremely organized and I like to make "to do" lists. There's nothing better than making a list of things you know you NEED to know and then checking them off when you complete them. I honestly think it keeps me on track and it helps me be even more organized.

This weekend I only have 1 photo shoot (triplets - senior photos) and that's completely okay with me because I have a huge list of things I need to get done. Last week I totally slacked off and didn't do a thing. Whether or not I complete the whole list doesn't matter. The key is, to mark as many things off as I can. Do you make "to do" lists? Do you have one for this weekend? Below are the things I plan to work on this weekend. Some are work related and some are personal and I honestly don't even know where I'm going to start :-)

TO DO LIST
• Finalize Christmas card mini session information and post it
• Follow up with a couple clients
• Deliver orders to a couple clients
• Design Christmas cards
• Design sample reception/guest book (modern guest book with e-session photos)
• Design sample wedding album
• Design sample senior album
• Redesign wedding forms
• Design marketing materials (info/pricing brochure, referral cards, gift cards, stationary, etc.)

• Wash car and detail the inside
• Finishing sewing quilt tops for Christmas presents
• Nap

Enjoy your weekend! Be safe, happy and healthy.

What To Wear Wednesday - Family (couple days late)

Almost every family photo shoot I schedule, I always get the same question, "What should we wear?" Well my answer is always this... DON'T GO MATCHY MATCHY! It's perfectly fine if your whole family shows up wearing exactly the same thing but I like to mix it up.

How I can best explain this is by showing you photos of course. Below are 3 different ideas for family photos. Look how they all match in some way or form. The colors are all blended but everyone isn't wearing the same color shirt and jeans or slacks. I love how this brings in textures and more colors, especially when hats and scarves are added. Adding accessories can change the look of a photo in so many ways.

I personally love the modern family look. It goes well with my favorite style of photography which is urban. Chuck Taylor shoes and grunge are just so hip and funky. If your family is modern and fun this would be the way to go. If you are more relaxed and like more of the country settings then I would suggest something like the first two examples. Either way, make sure you dress to fit your personality first and foremost. You don't want to look back on your family photos years from now and think to yourself, "that just doesn't look like us".

Fall is coming up and a perfect time to get family photos as well as to start thinking about Christmas cards. My schedule is slowing booking up so call or email me to book your session today!

Fullerton Family

This past weekend I had the honor of taking family portraits for the Fullerton family. They were such an amazing family and so much fun to be around. I even got to ride on their new combine! I can honestly say I've never been in one or any kind of farming equipment because I'm the farthest thing from a country girl you can get. Even though I'm not a country girl, I had a blast on that combine and taking pictures around their farm. Out of a family of 7, there were 3 Mike's and I still ended up calling the 4th guy there the wrong name. Seriously, I think the heat was getting to me....yeah, that's what I'll blame it on. LOL Anyways, I'll stop rambling so you can get to the good stuff. Here are my favorites from their session. Thank you Fullerton family for an awesome afternoon.

Macie - 2012 Senior

The only thing that comes to mind when I think of Macie's session is that we had BEAUTIFUL weather for it. It was a gorgeous Saturday morning and it was the first session I had in a long time that we all weren't sweating like crazy! I had some locations that I hadn't used before in mind and I was pretty excited to use those. Macie, I think your pictures turned out amazing! It was hard picking out my favorites. I love sessions where I have a hard time picking favorites LOL.

Work it girl!

Taylor - 2012 Senior

If you look closely, you'll probably think this girl look familiar. And if you think that you've seen her before you have. Taylor already had one awesome session already, with her horse. She's gorgeous and I got some great country style photos. She wanted to schedule another session to have more urban style photos. Well let me just tell ya, I don't know what photos are my favorite! I think they are all good, but then again I'm partial to all my photographs :). I absolutely love taking senior photos. Look below and you'll see why.

Lohman Girls

The day Jessica and her daughters scheduled their pictures was probably one of the hottest days of the summer. It was so humid but you would never tell by looking at their photos. They were troopers and they never complained, which was amazing. When it's that hot, nobody needs to be outside for more than like 10 minutes but we were out there for about 45 minutes or so. We had a blast and I ended up getting some really great shots. Here are some of my favorites.
