Dustin + Tarina | Christmas Wedding

On December 15, Dustin and Tarina were married in the cutest little church in the tiny town of Walsh, IL. A small church in the middle of nowhere and the perfect setting for their Christmas wedding. Everywhere you looked you saw Christmas decorations. A big tree with lots of lights, greenery on the steps just outside the front doors. The only thing that was missing for this Christmas wedding was snow. But that didn't snow Tarina from making sure it snowed on her wedding day. After she and Dustin said "I do" they walked out of the doors of that tiny church towards all of their family and friends, who were standing there holding cones filled with artificial snow. As their family and friends stood around them, I counted to 3 and everyone tossed the artificial snow in the air and they gave each other a kiss. It was seriously my favorite moment out of that whole day. In that moment, nothing mattered. All that mattered was that two people loved each other so much that they dedicated their lives to one another. I know that all may sound a little too corny but it's not to me. I believe in love and I believe in Dustin and Tarina. They are the perfect couple. You don't have to know them all that well to see just how much they love each other. You can see it!

I think this particular wedding day went by super fast but I do remember that I had a blast with everyone in their wedding party and their families. I'm so glad that Dustin and Tarina trusted me in taking the pictures on one of the most important days of their lives. It was a beautiful day and I cannot wait to show you my favorites. Get ready because they're pretty good!!!

How many bridesmaids does it take to get a bride into her dress??? LOL

LOVED her shoes. Amazing!

Looking sharp in his tux!

Red dresses for a Christmas wedding.

DJ + Heather | Engaged

MY COUSIN IS GETTING MARRIED! I kept telling my cousin that one day when he proposed to his girlfriend to give me a call and we'd work something out LOL. That day seemed like it would never come. I think I was as anxious as Heather was about the proposal. I was so excited to hear he finally popped the question and I already began making plans and thinking up ideas for their pictures.

We met up in Carbondale for a few urban style pictures and then Heather suggested we head out to a winery in Carterville called Walker's Bluff. I won't tell you that the weather was perfect because it was pretty darn cold!!!! But you would never know it from the looks of their pictures. I think once the session was over we all were froze to the bones and ready for a nice warm cup of coffee or mocha from McDonald's (that's what I prefer).

I cannot express enough how happy I am for my cousin DJ and his fiancé Heather. They are truly a great couple and they compliment each other so well. Their wedding day cannot get here fast enough. Enjoy looking through my favorites from their session.

Nick + Brooke | Engaged

I'm still trying to get in the pattern of blogging right after I post a few favorites to my Facebook page. It gets a little crazy in the fall and around Christmas time so I've missed a few sessions. I know I'm slacking but I'm going to make up for it LOL. Get ready to see some awesomeness!

Meet Nick and Brooke. They will be getting married this coming summer and I'm very much looking forward to their big day. I actually worked with Nick for a little while so I already knew him. And I had met Brooke through a mutual friend many years ago. When I met up with the two of them, we talked about their big day and expectations they wanted from their photographer. As I walked away from that meeting I just knew that we were a good fit and I was that they agreed too.

Their engagement session took place in DuQuoin and it was an absolute perfect day. One of those days that the weather was perfect and the light was a photographer's dream. Nick and Brooke were very comfortable in front of the camera. Whatever poses I wanted them to do or try, they always agreed to it. I think their portraits turned out amazing and I'm so excited to show you a few of my favorites. Can't wait till summer!!!!
