Dax + Chelsea | Engaged

I love meeting new couples. I always look forward to meeting new couples because first off, who doesn't want to make new friends and second, because I love getting to know their personalities and see why it is that they fell in love in the first place. That's one of the reasons why I give my couples who book a wedding with me a complimentary engagement session. During that time, I take in all I can about that couple. We discuss the wedding day, how they met, we laugh, it's just a great time. Last week when I met up with Dax and Chelsea, I could tell right away that they were going to be fun. Dax pulled up in this old sports car (I cannot even tell you what it was, I forgot oops!) and Chelsea pulled up and out jumped their cute little boy. They of course wanted a few family portraits and I was happy to do so. At one point Dax said, "Man, we haven't been this cute and romantic in a while." They started laughing after that. Some couples aren't used to posing nose to nose or nuzzling up against one another. But you would never know that they weren't because their pictures turned out so great!!!! They are so stinking cute and I cannot wait till their wedding day. In the mean time, check out my favorites from their engagement session.

How cute are they!!!!

Nick + Brooke | Orange, Pink & Yellow Du Qu Quoin, IL Wedding

Last Saturday I had the honor of taking a wedding photos for an amazing couple, Nick and Brooke. It was my only wedding I had scheduled for the month of July (honestly I'm not too upset about that since it's usually so hot and humid out). I met Brooke and her bridesmaids at a salon (New Image Salon) right across the street from the church. Super convenient if I do say so myself LOL. After hair and makeup was finished we ran over to the church to get ready. Watching Brooke get into her dress was one of my favorite moments of the day. She just had this huge smile on her face and she just couldn't wait to see Nick. It was so hot that day but we still decided to do their "first look" outside under a shade tree. I told Nick that it wouldn't take long and that we'd be in the air conditioned church in no time! Poor guy. I do feel for guys who wear tuxedos on wedding days in the middle of summer. Luckily the church was gorgeous and we got some pretty amazing shots in there before the ceremony. The ceremony was beautiful and Nick and Brooke's family and friends waved goodbye to them as they rode off in an old car (forgive me I can't even remember what it was). Luckily after family pictures there was a storm coming and the breeze came along! We were out at the Du Quoin Fairgrounds and the breeze was coming off of the lake..... so amazing! The light was so great for portraits then. I love me some stormy weather LOL. The night ended with an amazing reception with all of Nick and Brooke's family and friends. It was such a wonderful day and I'm so honored that Nick and Brooke trusted me with their big day. I had a wonderful time and I hope you all enjoy their story of their wedding day (through pictures).

Brooke, you were a STUNNING bride!

Maybe my NEW favorite ring shot. LOVE IT!

Brooke's mother was on her bouquet...she wasn't able to be there physically but she was VERY much apart of the day.

First look!

The flower girls were so darn cute!

As well as the ring bearer!

That's one happy groom there!

MARRIED!

Pink socks!!!! Love it.

All the groomsmen had different ties that matched the wedding colors.
