Matthew + Kristen | A Country Engagement Shoot | Marissa, IL

I love meeting new people, especially engaged couples. I love getting to see how couples interact with each other and how their personalities shine through. I'm always a bit nervous when meeting new couples but that usually lasts about 5 minutes and then we click and things start flowing. When I meet Matt and Kristen last weekend I just knew it was going to be an amazing session.

I met them at Kristen's parent's home which is the location for their wedding next September. It's such a beautiful location and right now they are currently leveling out the property, planting new grass and other stuff to get ready for a huge tent for their reception next year. I cannot wait to see that place a year from now and I know wonderful things are in store.

Both Matt and Kristen are super laid back and easy going and they pretty much told me to do whatever I wanted. The only thing getting in our way was the amount of wind we were dealing with. You would  never know it though by looking at these pictures. I'm really excited about how these pictures turned out and I hope you all enjoy them too.

Have a happy and safe weekend! I'm gearing up for 5 straight weeks of weddings and sessions so stay tuned for the blog to be booming with posts.

Look at that golden sunlight!!! And the horse in the background!

Look at that bling! It's rose gold and Matt did a fabulous job picking it out!

Matthew | 2015 Marissa High School Senior

Do you ever meet people and think to yourself that they remind you of someone? Maybe that person reminds you of a celebrity, a family member or someone you went to high school with. For whatever reason, the minute I met Matthew I had that feeling. When I showed up at Matthew's house for his senior session, I kept telling myself that he reminded me of someone but I couldn't put my finger on it. After moving around the farm a bit I suggested that Matthew change into his 2nd outfit. When he came out he was wearing a plaid shirt. It had reds and blues and it dawned on me. I knew who he reminded me of…. CLARK KENT! For those of you who know the Superman comics, you know that Clark Kent is Superman. I'm a huge Superman fan and loved the TV show Smallville. I have all the seasons on DVD actually and my sister at one point had a specific ringtone for my calls set to the Smallville theme song LOL.

Why am I telling you about all of this? I'm not exactly sure. I guess I just like to ramble. But Matthew's senior session was so awesome. I loved taking him around the farm and he even had some of his own ideas. His parents were really nice too and it was so nice getting to meet all of them. I hope you all see how wonderful Matthew's pictures turned out and maybe even some of you will see what I saw in him. No, he's not Superman, but I think his pictures are out of this world. (I know, that was silly but I just couldn't help it LOL).

Probably my favorite!

Another HUGE favorite of mine.

Abby | Sparta, IL Maternity Session

I'm one of those people with a "type A" personality. That means that I plan everything, rigidly organized, impatient and a workaholic who pushes myself with deadlines. When Abby told me that she didn't know the sex of her baby I immediately thought to myself, "oh goodness, I'd have to find out!" I honestly don't know if I could wait 9 months to be surprised LOL. That's just me personally but I'm extremely excited for Abby and her husband Tyler to be meeting their baby at the end of the month. I'm going to put my guess out there and guess that she's having a boy.

Abby wanted a few maternity pictures but she also wanted a few pictures with Tyler and their daughter Emma. Of course I said that was okay so they both came along and we got some really great family shots. Emma wasn't too sure at first about all the picture taking but she warmed up quickly after I started asking her questions like "do you prefer cheeseburgers or chicken nuggets" and "are you wanting a baby brother or sister?" Emma said she would like a baby sister and she got all smiley. It was really cute.

Happy Hump Day to all of you today and enjoy looking through my favorites of Abby and her cute belly. And Abby, if you're reading this, I wish you all the best with the delivery of your new bundle of joy. I'll be anxiously waiting to hear the news!

Love this!
