Nathan + Megan | An Engagement Session At The Lake

When I started shooting weddings, I knew right away how I wanted to connect with my brides. The basic hire and shoot wedding idea seemed cold to me and I wanted to become friends with my brides and get to know them better. After all, I am capturing one of the most important days in their lives so it makes sense for me to need to be close and understand them. On the day of a wedding, I don't just walk in as the photographer...I walk in as a friend and it's also the time where I get to meet all the bridesmaids, mothers, etc. Well, Megan has been a bridesmaid in many weddings that I've captured over the years and when she contacted me to shoot her own wedding I was overwhelmed with excitement. You see, I've known Megan for so long, and her fiancé Nathan, so this whole process has already been started a long time ago.

When I met up with Nathan and Megan this past weekend, it was comfortable and I wasn't a stranger and it made them open up more and become confident in front of my lens. It was amazing! They are the cutest couple ever and I had so much fun capturing their love and personalities. The way Nathan looks at Megan just wants to melt your heart and when Nathan wraps his arms around Megan you can see just how safe she feels and how excited she is to have him stand beside her through live.

These two are getting married the end of May and I cannot wait. It's going to be such a beautiful event and since I know their families and friends it'll be a party for me too. What fun we're going to have!

Here are a few of my favorites from my time with Nathan and Megan...

Stop with the cuteness!!!! Love this pic.

One of my all-time favorites right here! I just love the light and airy feel with these pictures.

LOVE!

Ahhhh! Another favorite!

Matt + Tara | A Wedding At The Barrens Winery - Perryville, MO

It's officially wedding season! My first wedding of the year took place last week and it was on Leap Day! How awesome is that. Leap Day only comes around every four years so it's definitely a special day. When Tara contacted me and told me that was the day she and Matt picked for their big day, I was thrilled. It's definitely going to be a date that Matt will remember  too :-)

Tara and Matt were married at the Barrens Winery in Perryville, MO. It's a wonderful winery just outside of the city. If you haven't been there before I totally recommend it (especially their wineritas). It was the prefect location for a small wedding. Tara and Matt have 4 children and they were very much apart of the ceremony and after pronouncing them husband and wife, they all walked down the isle together as a family. It was so darn cute.

This wedding might have been small but it was one of the most intimate wedding I've ever been apart of. Most of the weddings I shoot are very large so it was a nice change of pace. I'm so honored that Tara and Matt wanted me to capture their big day. Here are a few of my favorites from their wedding.
