Amber + Korey | Country Engagement Session

July 15, 2019

Filed in: Engagements

I’ve had so many great photos to share with you lately and absolutely no time to blog. Well today is the day my friends… the day you get to meet Amber and Korey! If you love dogs, antlers, blue jeans and country landscapes and buildings, then you’re going to love this engagement session.

I love meeting new people so naturally it’s always a good time when I get to meet my couples. I don’t always do a bridal consult in person. A lot of the time I get to meet my couples in person on the day of their engagement session. It’s where I learn all about how they met, how the proposal went down and what they see for their wedding day. When I pulled up to Korey’s parent’s property, Amber came right out and greeted me and I hugged her and told her how excited I was for their session about to happen. Korey was still finishing getting ready and when I finally got to meet him, he just grinned and sort of looked nervous. I quickly told him that the session was going to be awesome and that I’d be casual with my posing. I even told him that I bet he’d have ideas by the end of the session!

We started off the session at Korey’s parent’s house. They have a beautiful lake and gorgeous trees. Some of my favorite shots of the day were taken there. It was just the perfect setting for a summer engagement session. The rest of the session happened on Amber and Korey’s property. There’s a lane that leads to a couple old barns. It’s where Korey proposed! Korey trains their dog, Ruger, to find antlers. One day, when Amber got home from work, Korey wanted Amber to go with him to take Ruger out on a walk. She was tired and didn’t want to do it, but agreed to. As they were on their walk, Korey told Ruger to go find some antlers. When he came back with one, Amber found “mom, will you marry dad” engraved on the antler, as well as Korey down on one knee! The rest is history and that’s what lead us to this amazing engagement session in the perfect locations for Amber and Korey. And as I predicted, by the end of the session, Korey was giving me ideas for photos! He was having a blast and that makes me excited with the guys get involved in the shoot.

I cannot wait to see these two again this fall for their wedding. Amber and Korey are absolutely perfect for each other and it was so much fun taking their photos. I’m hoping that maybe Ruger will get to make an appearance at the wedding! We shall see 🙂
