If there’s one word to describe David and Bethany’s wedding last Saturday, it would be “creative”. Bethany was such a crafty little bride and had so many ideas for her wedding day. She kept telling me that she hoped I capture all of the little details and she wasn’t kidding. THERE WERE A LOT! From homemade hangers with her bridesmaids names spelled in wire, to adding wheat to some store bought picture frames, she really did think of how the details would fit her and David’s personality.
Bethany always wanted an outdoor ceremony for as long as she could remember. She and David live on a farm just outside of Sparta and that’s where the ceremony took place. There were rows of hay bales with cotton fabric on top for guests to sit on. The aisle was lined with hooks and hung on them were mason jars filled with hydrangeas. Old quilts, wash tubs, plants, a sewing machine table and mason jars with corn. There was even a black wooden cow that everyone signed with a white pen instead of signing a traditional guest book. The reception was just the same. The head table was gorgeous with a country fireplace mantle with greenery and flowers and a yellow “M” for their last name. The cake was filled with yellow flowers and sat on a wooden board. Wheat was everywhere (which I loved because it reminded me of their engagement session. You can view that session here.)
The only problem of the wedding day was the heat. Seriously, triple digit temps! I think Bethany called me three times last week worried about the heat and was hoping that everything would work out okay for the photos. She and David even agreed to do a “first look” which was a blessing!!! We were able to get a lot of the photos out of the way before the real heat came in the late afternoon. After the ceremony we only had a few pictures to take and cooled off for a little bit before heading to the reception. The bridal party even rode to the reception “hay ride style”. So cute! Lucky for me I followed in my car with the AC on full blast LOL.
I’m so happy to show you this wedding. David and Bethany, thank you so much for letting me be apart of your big day. You were so much fun to work with and I hope you treasure these photos for years to come. I wish you two all the best!
P.S. I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites…so there’s a lot of pics posted! I just had to show off this wedding. Enjoy.
Bethany made these hangers while sitting in the tractor while David was farming. So crafty!
Bethany, you are gorgeous!
Stunning!!!
My favorite of all the groomsmen. So sharp.
Working the “model face” very well here!
Seriously, so beautiful.
The first time David and Bethany saw each other.

Some details shots from the day.
Instead of a unity candle, they poured corn into the larger mason jar.
Loving the sewing table.
Fan programs and an awesome alternative to the boring traditional guest book.
My FAVORITE ring shot I’ve ever taken!
MARRIED!
I did a quick edit of about 20 pictures during dinner. Then uploaded them on my iPad to show Bethany and David a preview. Here’s Bethany showing her friends and family.
First dance.
Congrats to the Mr. & Mrs. McMaster!
Beautiful pictures of a great wedding…and, yes, it was hot, but so glad to have Beth join the family. Aunt Jan
