Drew + Hannah | A Rustic Southern Illinois Wedding

March 21, 2014

Filed in: Uncategorized

The moment I walked into Hannah’s parent’s home last Saturday, I knew it was going to be an amazing day. The house was filled with so much love and laughter. Bridesmaids were set up in the living room with tables filled with curling irons, makeup and hair pins. There were glasses of mimosas scattered about. I could hear music being played through Pandora. Everyone was in a great mood, even Hannah, who told me that she sort of felt like she was getting ready for prom. It hadn’t sunk in yet that it was her WEDDING DAY! That didn’t take long though. Once she stepped foot in her dress she felt it. That moment when it’s all finally happening. She was about to marry her soul mate, Drew.

Drew was waiting for us at the Pierre Menard Home in Chester, IL. We were running a tiny bit behind but I think he was totally fine with waiting. He was all smiles when I showed up and took him to the spot where he would see his bride for the first time. I walked him over to the house, we walked up to the balcony and I told him to wait some more. He had the biggest grin but he’d never admit that. When Hannah walked up behind him and told him to turn around he just stood there amazed and couldn’t stop looking at her. It’s always nice to see couples see each other for the first time on their wedding day. You can’t rehearse that. It’s a raw moment and every couple is different.
Portraits were amazing and I couldn’t have asked for a better day. Spring is finally upon us and the warm sunlight is so growly and perfect. The whole day was perfect as a matter of fact. Including the amazing rustic reception waiting for Drew and Hannah’s guest at the World Shooting Complex in Sparta, IL. The ballroom was FULL of round tables with several centerpieces with flowers, wood ornaments and lanterns. And their cake!!! OMG it was gorgeous. And I can’t forget to mention their band, Mirage from St. Louis, MO. They were seriously the best band I’ve heard in a long time. I usually see DJs at weddings so it’s always refreshing when a band is playing. They rocked the house all  night long.
Drew and Hannah, I hope you’re having an amazing time on your honeymoon in the Bahamas. It was such an honor taking your wedding photos and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Hannah’s dad, Ed, seeing her for the first time.

First look with Drew!

Love this!!! He couldn’t stop looking at her.

Hannah, you’re stunning!

Definitely one of my favs!!!

So handsome!

Another favorite right here!

Ceremony time. Hannah was all smiles!

Now for some reception detail shots. Seriously, I was blown away!

The toasts given by the best man and maid of honor were great. Here’s a great pic of Hannah and Drew’s reaction to what Ben was saying LOL.

The cake was made by Jo-Nita Gordon.

And this is why EVERY bride should have lights at her reception!!!!

The band was amazing!
