The moment I saw the groomsmen in tails I knew that this wedding was going to be classic and elegant and it was going to be a wedding filled with many firsts for me. If you don’t know what tails are it’s where the tuxedo has long tails on the back of the jacket and the front is shorter to show a cummerbund. I haven’t seen tails at any of the weddings I’ve shot over the last 2.5 years (at least I don’t think so) so I was very impressed. The bridesmaids were all in long black gowns with pearl earrings and necklaces that Taylor had given them the night before after rehearsal. A black and white wedding is so classy and romantic at the same time. Ellis and Taylor both love music and Taylor even teaches music so that was definitely going to play a part in their wedding day. They had friends playing live before and during the ceremony and it was so beautiful. Then at the reception, there was a 12-piece band playing and it was seriously the coolest thing! That type of music is right up my alley. If you like Frank Sinatra then you would have loved the music too. Not many weddings that I shoot have a live band so it’s always a treat when there is one. I stayed for a tiny bit and danced with some friends. My step sister Loran was actually a bridesmaid and her husband Chris was the best man. In fact, that’s how I met Ellis and Taylor, at Chris and Loran’s wedding 2 years ago.
Ellis and Taylor, thank you so much for letting me be apart of your wedding. I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed you and your families. It was truly a pleasure taking your wedding photos. Enjoy my favorites from your big day!
