Blush + Navy Rustic Wedding on the Heiple Farm | Murphysboro, Illinois

I love weddings. So many wonderful moments happen during a wedding. From the bride walking down the isle, all the way to the couple sharing their first dance as a married couple. But weddings can also be a way for people to meet. Dustin and Danyele met at a wedding about 5 years ago and this past weekend, it was their turn for all those special wedding memories to happen.

Dustin’s family has some property in Murphysboro and it sits next to the Spillway on Lake Kinkaid. They planned a beautiful outdoor ceremony overlooking the river. After parking your car (or being drove in by bus), guests walked up a wooded walkway with lights strung through the trees. Then they entered the “outdoor church” through a set of white wooden doors. Fresh flowers lined an isle of dark wooden church pews, which led to a rustic alter with more fresh flowers and an antique table for the ceremony, where Dustin and Danyele put together a unity cross. If that wasn’t amazing enough, they even hired a guy to use his drone to get some photos and footage of the ceremony. How cool!!!! My favorite part of the ceremony was when the pastor was asking Dustin and Danyele to give their intent for marriage. When it was Danyele’s turn to respond, she barely waited for the pastor to finish reading her the whole intent when she interrupted and said “I WILL” really loud. You could tell she was so eager to marry Dustin and it was beautiful to see.
The night ended with a reception at the Steeleville American Legion with 500 of their closest friends and family. Dustin and Danyele sure know how to throw a party! Remember me talking about all those fresh flowers at the ceremony? Well take that and double it! It was a beautiful rustic garden in that hall. Jonathan with Twig Floral Designs did such an amazing job on decorating the ceremony and reception. And last, but not least, there was a live band. Honestly, why don’t people book bands for weddings more often??? It was seriously awesome. I love live music and We’ve Got It Covered rocked the house for the guests.
I know I’ve said this before, but I’m going to say it again. Being a wedding photographer is literally the best job in the world. I get to be around love most weekends out of the year and who doesn’t want to be around that??? I’m so thankful for amazing clients like Dustin and Danyele and I cannot wait to show you a few of my favorites from their big day. Enjoy!
