When I first began my photography business, my goal was to become a wedding photographer but I didn’t want to rush in to it. I wanted to start with portraits and work my way in and get experience. I love weddings so much and when you book a wedding with me, you get a FREE engagement session. It’s my way of getting to know the bride and groom before the ceremony and it’s their way to get to know me and my sense of style, as well as how I run my sessions/wedding day.

For this particular engagement session, I already knew the bride-to-be. Brooke is such a sweet girl and I was absolutely thrilled when she told me she wanted me to be her wedding photographer. I couldn’t wait to meet her fiancé, Brandon. He’s a volunteer firefighter and so naturally Brooke wanted to get pictures of them at the station. Such a great idea. Then, she wanted a location that was country and perfect with the fall colors. At first we planned on going to Maystown but I got to thinking that my Aunt and Uncle’s farm would be perfect, plus it’s a lot closer. It was the perfect day with overcast skies and every so often the sun would peak through. When we got to the farm we started with pics on their lane. As we worked our way up to the house I kept getting more and more excited. Seriously, I was blessed with this beautiful couple, beautiful weather, beautiful location, etc. I don’t know how I got to be this lucky but I’m thankful every day. There was one point in the session where I had them standing in a field and the sun peaked out for a brief moment. That golden sun beamed down on them as they looked at each other and I snapped the shot. It’s probably my favorite picture from the whole day. Everything in that moment was perfect and I was lucky enough to capture it.

Brandon and Brooke, I know that 2014 seems like forever, but it was be here before you know it. I cannot wait for your big day to get here. For now, enjoy your engagement and enjoy your beautiful engagement pictures.
