Tim + Katie | Carbondale, IL Engagement

November 8, 2013

Fall is in full swing here in the midwest. It’s absolutely gorgeous right now and the colors are beautiful. I had so many session in October and all my clients were wishing that the leaves would have changed a bit more. It’s so hard to predict the changing of the seasons here. Mother Nature is crazy and she decided that November was going to be our pretty month… and Tim and Katie lucked out! The original date we scheduled their session it literally rained and rained all day. We probably got 2-3 inches of rain. We rescheduled for the next day and even though it was a beautiful day, it was pretty muddy, especially at Giant City Park (where they wanted to take pictures at).

I started thinking of locations we both could drive to and meet and I remembered the campus lake in Carbondale at SIU. I was there in January for my step sister’s wedding and I knew it would be gorgeous there with the leaves changing. Katie thought it would be great too since Tim went to school at SIU. I couldn’t have asked for better weather. The sunlight was perfect and golden by the lake and after a couple hundred pictures and 2 outfit changes we decided to go to another spot that was more modern and urban. Really, Tim and Katie, were up for anything. They changed into one last outfit and I remember telling Tim “this the last one I promise.” I couldn’t help myself. When you get good light you just keep shooting and the ideas keep flowing. You know guys don’t care for pictures but I don’t think I tortured Tim that long. He did so well and I really think he had a great time. Even Katie told me she thinks Tim had a good time.
I cannot wait till May when their wedding day comes. They’ll be getting married at the Wedding Garden in Carbondale and I’m so excited. Enjoy looking at a few of my favorites from their session.
HAPPY FRIDAY!
