Brad + Jenna | Carbondale, IL Wedding

December 5, 2013

Filed in: Uncategorized

Right now I’m writing this blog post as the rain freezes outside my door. It’s been one of those days where I’ve sat in my PJs with a cup of hot chocolate and wrapped up in a blanket watching Hallmark movies. What else can you do when you’re stuck inside with bad weather?

Last month, I had the honor of taking Brad and Jenna’s wedding photos. I first met Jenna at a bridal show I did in January. She was the only bride I booked from that day and I remember talking with her mom and her about Jenna’s wedding day and all the details they had in store. I couldn’t wait for their big day to arrive and on November 9, Brad and Jenna had one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve had to date. Green was the only color for the day and what I loved the most was that the guys wore tuxes with tails! I haven’t seen those in such a long time. They’re so classic and elegant. They fit perfectly with Jenna’s classic wedding theme.

One of my favorite parts of the day was when Brad and Jenna shared their “first look.” Jenna wanted to make sure they had a LOT of portraits so seeing each other before the ceremony was definitely something she wanted to do. When Brad turned around and saw Jenna standing there in her wedding gown, he just stood there speechless. He keep looking at her and her dress and then just held her and loved on her. It was the sweetest thing I had ever seen. You could just tell how much in love they were. I love moments like that on a wedding day. A moment where you know that love really does exist and it doesn’t matter what dress you’re wearing or what color or theme your wedding has. All that matters is how two people look at each other. The moment where two people keep saying “I love you” over and over again knowing they are about to promise their lives to one another in front of their family and friends. I get goosebumps just thinking about their “first look” again. It just makes me love my job that much more!

Enjoy looking through my favorites from Brad and Jenna’s wedding day. It’s a storyboard of one of the most important days of their lives and I’m so honored they chose me to capture it.

Loved the shirts that Jenna and her bridesmaids wore.

Time for the “first look.”

Probably my favorite garter toss photo to date! He wanted that thing!!!
