Well it’s the new year and normally by this time I would probably be stressed out about calories with a new diet plan or trying to organize something. Every year it’s the same old thing. Make resolutions that seem to only stick around for a month or two and then I’m back to my old ways. I’ve decided to take a new approach to life. DON’T TRY SO HARD! I think the fact that I’ve been trying so hard to be perfect is what’s keeping me from truly being happy. I’m realizing more and more every day that you can’t please everyone so you just have to please yourself. That’s extremely hard since I’m a people-pleaser.

So starting now, I’m declaring 2014 the year of no resolution but simply…. to be happy. And to start off making myself happy, I’ll be doing something that I love, crochet. Crocheting calms me down and forces me NOT to think. It’s a stress reliever and I haven’t had the time to since last winter. The pattern I’ve had my eye on for about 2 years now is finally going to used. I bought a new bed and some bedding and I’m making this blanket for an accent piece to go over a chair in my room. The bedding colors are in the picture below on the left and the pattern I’ll be using is on the right.

If there’s an advice I can give you all, it’s to just live every day and not care what others think of you. Do what makes YOU happy and everything else will fall into place. Here’s to an amazing 2014!
