Bruce + Whitney | Traditional Teal Wedding – Evansville, IL

April 4, 2014

Filed in: Uncategorized

I’ve been trying to think of the right words to describe this wedding all morning and I feel like no matter what I say it won’t do it justice. That’s how I feel towards all my weddings. I’m not exactly the best writer, was never good at it in school, but I feel like every bride deserves someone telling her story. The story of the biggest day in her life.

Bruce and Whitney had a traditional church wedding in the small town of Evansville, IL. The church they got married in was stunning. The architecture was beautiful and so classic and it was the perfect setting for the two of them to promise their lives to one another in front of all their family and friends. Teal was the color of choice for Whitney and her dream wedding. Her gown had tons of ruffles and a little bit of bling. It fit her like a glove and the minute Whitney got into her gown she started glowing. The portraits went very well and very quickly considering it was freezing outside and there was a big bridal party. I think the girls especially were ready to get through photos because they wanted to warm up a bit before the ceremony. I couldn’t have asked for a better bridal party and couple. They were ready to do whatever I wanted and we even had a little bit of fun with individual portraits with funny faces.
The reception was gorgeous with blue lights steaming up behind the cake and head tables. I actually had the privilege of going into the reception hall to get photos 30 minutes before guests arrived, so that meant I could get really good pictures without purses scattered on tables and people walking around. It was refreshing for once to have the time to do that. After all the food was eaten, cake was cut and the first dance as husband and wife, Bruce and Whitney were ready to dance the night away with their guests. It was such a great day shared with wonderful people and I wasn’t ready to see it end. I’m honored that Bruce and Whitney wanted me to capture one of the biggest days in their lives and I’m hoping they love these pictures as much as I do.

It was perfect that the walls were a light teal color.

Time for the ceremony. The ring bearer and flower girl were ADORABLE!

Bruce is on the Baldwin Fire Department…. so naturally we went for pics with the truck!

You two are just too cute!

The couple who had been married the longest… I believe 56 years. Don’t quote me on that but it was over 55 I believe.
