Not Enough Hours In The Day?

Am I the only one who thinks that life goes by faster the minute you graduate from high school? I remember all through school that I would wish my life away and I couldn’t WAIT till I graduated. Time flew by so slowly for me back then. Life totally caught up with me and I’m sitting here wondering where my life has gone these past 13 years. I did work for almost 10 years at a publishing company, a couple part-time jobs, started my own business and became a cheerleading coach, oh and became an aunt to 3 amazing nieces. Life has been good and extremely busy for me.

Why am I telling you all of this stuff? Because with all the stuff I have going on in my life, I have a lot of hobbies. My favorite of them all is crocheting. I’ve been crocheting for about 8-9 years. I had worked with a girl who knew how to and we always talked about getting together for her to teach me. Well 3 years had passed and she told me she was moving. I was like, “OMG I have to learn how to crochet before she moves!” So I went over to her house the night before she moved away and she taught me. After a few hours I fell in love with it and I’ve never turned back. I do get made fun of because girls my age shouldn’t be crocheting. Well I have news for all the haters out there… I DON’T CARE! I’m a firm believer that you should live life how YOU want and do what YOU want to do. Don’t let anyone tell you not to do something because it’s not cool or what everyone else is doing. If that were the case, I would have never found a hobby that I truly love and how I express myself.

I have way too many projects going on right now and I started a new one last Wednesday. I went to a friend’s house and I taught her and her sister how to crochet. I figured I’d start the same pattern as them. I’m absolutely loving it right now and I’m pretty sure I’m designing my living room around this afghan.

I’ll keep updating pics as I go alone. I hope to finish all of them THIS YEAR! Some of these I started a couple years ago and I’m just now making the time to do it. There simply are not enough hours in the day to get all of them done in a timely manner LOL.

First up is the pattern that I’m teaching my friends. The pic on the left is from the pattern in the book and what I currently have done is on the right. I’m loving the mustard color.
This blanket I started for my mother about 2-3 years ago. It’s super fast to do but moved out of her house right after I started this and it’s been sitting in a bag ever since. Now that she lives in Alabama I don’t think she’ll be needing it… but I better check LOL. Otherwise, it’s going to sit in my living room once it’s finished.

Probably my FAVORITE pattern that I’ve ever seen in my life. I found it on Pinterest one day and I just had to have my hands on the pattern. The pattern pic is on the left and what I’ve done so far is on the right. I only have 2 rows but those flowers each take forever so it’s going to take a while to finish. My plans for this blanket is to be an accent throw for my bedroom chair.

And last but not least, the pattern that I LOVE but totally didn’t read it all the way through and messed it up. You’re suppose to connect the squares as you go but I did them separately. Now I’m connecting them all together and deep in my heart I know it’s wrong so that’s what is keeping me from finishing it LOL. It’s the “type A” personality in me but I know it’ll look great once it’s all finished.
