A.J. | 2014 Steeleville High School Senior

I always wonder if people actually read my blogs. Yes, they may look through all the photos but I never know if the content is ever read. Last Sunday, when I finished taking A.J.’s senior photos, he asked me if there would be a blog post telling all about his session. That made me feel good. To know that someone was actually reading my blog, especially a high school senior, it meant a lot. I do write blog posts about my couples and my seniors. I do not write blog posts for all of my other portraits because I would never keep up.

Well A.J. is a senior at Steeleville High School and I’ve known him since he was born. It’s crazy to think that he’s about to graduate from high school. I remember him as a little boy and always being with  his mom and dad at his sister’s school functions. The last couple years I have spent more time around A.J. especially during basketball and baseball season. Last year I took lots of photos during the basketball season and during the playoffs and this year I became the cheerleading coach so I was definitely around all the time. It’s been a pleasure watching A.J. play sports and I’m going to miss him out on the court/field. He’s grown up into the most loving and caring young man and he’s always smiling. I don’t think I’ve ever seen A.J. mad or upset. His personality is contagious and I’m honored that he picked me to take his senior photos. It was bitter sweet taking them because I knew that his days at SHS are limited and next year just isn’t going to be the same without him.

A.J., I hope you enjoy your pictures as much as I do. I wish you all the best. Enjoy the last few weeks of your senior year. It goes by fast!

Yeah, we had like 30 seconds to get this picture before oncoming traffic neared LOL. We practiced on the side of the road so we knew what we had to do when we made it out there on the road.

Probably my FAVORITE from A.J.’s session.

A close 2nd favorite right here! Those tubes (whatever they are) are fabulous for pictures.

Love the one of him on the highway. I don't know him personally, but he played sports with my boys.
