Chris + Briana | A Chaumette Vineyard & Winery Proposal, Ste. Genevieve, MO

Last week I received a call. I was asked if I was available to take pictures of a proposal. My immediate reaction was to scream and jump up and down but I didn’t think that was very professional. I was beyond excited because I was actually available. You see, I started a new job and I work full time through the week now. It just so happened that I had the day off and everything seemed to be setting into place.

The proposal took place at the Chaumette Vineyard & Winery in Ste. Genevieve, MO. If you haven’t been there before, you need to plan a day and go. It’s seriously one of the most beautiful wineries in the area. As I drove through the white gate and up the curvy driveway, I was beginning to imagine a beautiful proposal that was about to take place. In the tasting room is where I meet Chris, the groom to be. He was all nervous and excited. He asked if I had any ideas for locations and we both agreed that a setting with the amazing view of the hills was the best place. I took a test shot and when I gave the ‘OK’, Chris made his was over the villa’s where he was to meet Briana.

Briana drove about 3.5 hours to get there. She had NO idea what was about to happen. After she settled in, Chris drove her up to the tasting room while I was sitting outside enjoying the view. I was to act like a complete stranger. I was a tad bit nervous too. I didn’t want to spoil the moment and give it away!!! Chris and Briana made their way outside and sat down at a table near me. After a few minutes they got up and Chris said he wanted to get some pictures. So they walked over and Chris asked if I would be willing to take a picture of the two of them. I said “sure, I’d love to” and we moved into position. I suggested that since I had my “nice” camera that I could take a cell phone picture and then take one on my camera, then email them the picture. The cell phone picture went well and as I reached for my camera that’s when Chris got down on one knee and that’s where it all began…….

Briana was so excited and she just started hugging Chris that he didn’t get a chance to put the ring on.

So he got down on one knee again…..

Pure love right there!

So surprised!

The staff then brought out some long stem roses and champagne that Chris had gotten Briana. See that guy in the background….. read more below to find out all about him.

Below is a picture of a man named Dustin. He was there when Chris and I were outside planning everything out. He must have heard what was going down because he looked over at me right as they were coming outside and we gave each other a grin.

Turns out that Dustin videotaped the whole thing! He thought they may want that too 🙂 The best part is…. Dustin is actually getting married there at the winery (THIS Saturday actually) and he was outside writing his vows that day. He was such a great guy and it was just so special that he videotaped the proposal for Chris and Briana.
