Jacob + Cassidy | A DuQuoin Fairgrounds Engagement Session, Du Quoin, Illinois

There’s one thing I think of when I think about summer. HEAT. I’ve never been one to like summer but I started to like it more and more when I started my photography business. There’s this beautiful golden light that you just don’t get the rest of the year. But in that golden light, there’s usually heat that comes along with it. On the day of Jacob and Cassidy’s engagement session, we had LOTS of heat but that didn’t stop us from having the best time.

I met up with Jacob and Cassidy at Cassidy’s sister’s house. Once they finished getting ready we drove over to the Du Quoin fairgrounds, which is absolutely perfect for portraits. Cassidy brought along some props for the shoot too, which involved Scrabble pieces, books and signs. We even went to a new location that I’d never been to before in the fairgrounds. I love shooting in new places.

I had so much fun with Jacob and Cassidy and I can’t wait till their wedding. Enjoy looking through my favorites from their engagement session.
