Derik + Nichole | A Giant City Lodge Engagement Sessions

I’ve never been engaged before but I can imagine that I would be a bride just like Nichole. Nichole is the excited bride that every photographer dreams about. She values photography and she wants to make sure that we have plenty of portrait time on her big day. Since she and Derik are planning a summer wedding, it was perfect timing to schedule some fall engagement photos. It’s such a beautiful time of year. It’s definitely the favorite season for most of my couples. When I asked if there was any place that she and Derik liked, she mentioned how beautiful the Giant City Lodge is and I couldn’t have agreed more. I’ve only taken portraits there once and it was nice to head back there.

When I pulled up, I parked right in front of the lodge and immediately could tell how awesome this session was going to be. Beautiful orange and yellow colors filled the trees and there was a slight breeze in the air. Nichole has gorgeous long hair and I was hoping Mother Nature was going to work with us and not blow her hair everywhere LOL. We were lucky and at times, the wind blew her hair in the perfect way, as if someone was standing next to me with a wind machine!

It’s officially November and hopefully the weather will cool down a bit so we all can enjoy some hot chocolate and bonfires. It’s hard to enjoy fall when you’re sweating in your jeans and hoodies LOL. Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone.
