I have been so excited to show you this engagement session. It’s not just any engagement session. It’s the engagement session of one of my best friends and her fiancé! Lacey and Brandon live by Chicago and we first tried to do photos a couple months ago around her parents house down here in Southern Illinois. It rained out so we had to reschedule. I looked at my schedule and the first weekend of October was open, so we planned to do their session up in Chicago. I was excited to make the whole weekend out of it and hang out with my friends but that was the weekend of the IRS scam (you can read about it here) and I never made my train.

It just so happened, that Lacey and Brandon was going to be coming south to visit family a couple weeks later so we had another opportunity to make it happen. I told Lacey that NOTHING was going to get in the way this time. Third time’s the charm. We planned a Friday morning and it was absolutely perfect. It was a tad cold but Lacey was a champ and you would never know it by looking at the photos that she was freezing LOL. Brandon did a great job of loving on her and keeping her warm though. Guys are good for that, especially with my laid back style of posing. I like my couples to be natural and love on each other how they normally would. Hug how they normally would, hold hands, etc. in their own way.

These two are planning an outdoor wedding at Lacey’s parents house next September and I’ll be a bridesmaid as well as their wedding photographer. Yes, I’m doing both. It may sound crazy to do both but my friend Myssie will be 2nd shooting the wedding with me and capturing all the things that I can’t (ceremony, bridal party). I’ll be with Lacey the whole day anyways so I might as well take my camera LOL. It’s going to be so fun and I’m honored that they asked me to be a part of it.
