Willie + Stephanie | Rustic Farm Wedding, Venedy, IL

I can remember walking into the building where Stephanie and her bridesmaids were getting ready and hearing Stephanie yell, “Kacey’s here!” If you know Stephanie, she’s a super bubbly personality, which if you know me I’m pretty much the same way. We walked up to each other and hugged and I honestly felt like I was hugging one of my best friends on her wedding day. I have loved getting to know Stephanie and Willie through this wedding process and I love that I got to be a part of their big day, not only as a paid professional, but as a friend too. I knew from the very minute I walked into that building that it was going to be amazing day.

Details are usually what I start shooting right away and I noticed the videographer was there already getting his shots for what he needed. We quickly became aquatinted and talked about each of our processes. I love working with videographers because they always have great ideas that I would never think about and vice versa. We feed off each other well and that in turn gives the client a better result in the end.

Groomsmen and bridesmaids portraits went off without a hitch and before I knew it, it was time for the ceremony. It was a beautiful ceremony at the St. Salvator Lutheran Church in Venedy, Illinois. It’s a charming little church and it had amazing light coming through the windows! I was in photographer heaven LOL. Afterwards, the guests were handed balloons and as Willie and Stephanie walked out of the church, everyone started shouting “YAY” and let the balloons go. It was such a fun moment and so special.

The night ended at the Bergmann Farm (Willie’s family farm). The barn that held all of their tractors was transformed into a beautiful reception venue with lights strung all round, a homemade dance floor, mason jars filled with flowers and huge letter balloons spelling out L-O-V-E and W & S. It was truly a masterpiece and both Willie and Stephanie’s families worked so hard making sure all the details were perfect. Guests were seen playing cornhole (bean bag toss game) or taking selfies over at the homemade photo booth area. All the details from Willie and Stephanie’s wedding day was simply amazing and I’m still in awe. I stuck around all evening celebrating with these two and their friends and family. It was truly a night to remember and I’m so honored I was the one chosen to capture it all.
