Lenzi + Boyd | Chester, Illinois Wedding

November 13, 2018

Filed in: Weddings

The morning of Lenzi and Boyd’s wedding, I walked into the home where Lenzi and her bridesmaids were getting ready and there wasn’t a room in the hour where there wasn’t someone getting ready. Lenzi had a very large bridal party, 10 girls, plus a flower girl and of course the mommas and of course the hair and makeup team. What amazed me the most was that as many people that there were in the house, it was pretty darn quiet and calm. Everyone was cool as a cucumber, especially Lenzi. She was finishing getting her hair done when I arrived and as I was taking detail photos I kept peeking in on her and she just had this smile on her face. She and Boyd had decided to stay traditional and not see each other before the wedding, so the anticipation for her to walk down the isle to her HUSBAND was getting real and she was getting excited. Boyd and his groomsmen were all next door in the man cave just hanging out and playing corn hole. There were so many of them it felt as if they should be playing a football game! It’s always so much fun getting to see the guys just be guys and making jokes. When the time allows for me to have time with the guys before the ceremony, there’s always plenty of opportunities to get some good candid shots.

Now, since Lenzi and Boyd were not going to be seeing each other, we had to keep them a part and make sure they didn’t see each other while portraits were being taken outside. I threatened the groomsmen to make sure Boyd stayed in the man cave and to not come out unless a bridesmaid gave permission. Okay, so I didn’t threaten his life or anything. You know what I mean. Lenzi was pretty firm on making sure Boyd didn’t sneak a peak till she came down the isle and I was going to make sure that happened LOL. Let me tell you, when that moment came, and Lenzi turned the corner with her father to walk down the isle, the look on Boyd’s face said it all! The whole morning of keeping them apart was all worth it. He finally got to see his bride and he just kept staring at her during the whole ceremony. I love it when a groom can’t take his eyes off his bride.

After a beautiful ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church in Chester, we made our way to the Covered Bridge just outside of Chester for the bridal party pics and pics of Lenzi and Boyd. The reception was at the American Legion, also in Chester. The head table was AMAZING! I can’t even begin to describe it so you’ll just have to scroll below to see for yourself. I don’t think the dance floor was ever empty in the time frame that I was there and I’m pretty sure after I left that all those dancers were still out there tearing it up! It was such a fun day and it went by way too fast. It’s funny because you plan and plan for a wedding day and there’s so much that goes into the planning. By the time the day gets there it’s all over with in the blink of an eye. I guess that’s why I love photography so much, especially for weddings. Photos are our only way to look back on special days. It was such an honor to be a part of such a special day for Lenzi and Boyd. Here’s a few of my favorites…

Boyd texted Lenzi right after she finished getting ready and said to look under her dress. There was something there from him. He had written her a little note. Lenzi and Boyd’s mothers and I believe a grandmother, all hand embroidered the note onto a piece of fabric and they pinned it under her dress. The note read, “I promise to love you with my whole heart, Love Boyd.” Cue the tears!!! There wasn’t a dry eye in the room!

Then he got her diamond earrings. Give me all the heart eye emojis LOL.

Lenzi gifted Boyd a new gun, and the smile on his face says it all.

BUBBLES!

I seriously love this picture so much! Plus, it’s in black/white and I love it that much more!
