Lisa + Piotr | Walker’s Bluff Winery Wedding

October 20, 2018

Filed in: Weddings

I have been looking forward to this wedding for SO long! When Lisa told me she and Piotr were getting married at Walker’s Bluff Winery, I immediately got excited started thinking of ideas. It’s a beautiful location for a wedding and I love when couples book an “all in one location” wedding because that means both the ceremony and reception take place at the same site. It makes it easier for the bridal party and family since there’s no driving around. It also means more time for portraits, which let’s face it, is a wedding photographer’s dream!

Lisa and Piotr set their ceremony time later in the day and they wanted to do all the portraits before the wedding. It’s really the way to go for a bride and groom, because after their ceremony was over, we took a few family formals and then they got to hang out with all their best friends and celebrate. I absolutely LOVED Lisa and Piotr’s first look. The minute Piotr turned around and saw his bride, he grinned from ear to ear, walked to her and wrapped his arms around her. They hugged and embraced each other so lovingly, some tears were shed and Lisa even did a little spin for Piotr to see her whole look. I’m telling you, there wasn’t a dry eye around! It’s capturing moments like that that make me love weddings days even more.

Jonathan Reiman did all the floral work, which was by far one of my favorite weddings he’s ever done! Kelcey Keith was the wedding planning/coordinator for Walker’s Bluff, the beautiful updos were done by the fabulous Hannah Dethrow (and she had a helper too, but I didn’t catch her name… sorry!). Memory Lane DJ was the sound and entertainment for the reception and of course the wonderful Walker’s Bluff did all the catering and the cake. Lisa and Piotr had such a vision for their wedding and it came to life beautifully.

I have to give a special shoutout to my second shooter, Sierra Oetjen Photography. I do not usually have a second shooter but Sierra wanted to see what wedding photography was all about and she wanted to learn a few things. I was happy to help her gain some knowledge and show her how I do things. It was great to have a different perspective for the day and I’m sure Lisa and Piotr will love the added images as well. I also wanted to thank my step mom, Lora, for assisting me and Sierra. She really helped things go smoothly and she literally ran around all day retrieving bouquets and fluffing dresses. It was such a huge help!

Here are my favorites from Lisa and Piotr’s big day.
