Everyone, I want you to meet Monica and Josh. They are high school sweethearts that will be getting married next July. I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to next summer. I hate wishing time away, but I just can’t help it when I look forward to shooting weddings. Monica and Josh wanted to do summer engagement pictures. After all, it’s the time of year when you’re tan and since Monica is a teacher, she has the summer off to plan for it. Now Josh’s schedule is a little crazy and it was harder to find days for him. He works at Children’s Hospital in St. Louis and he’s a nurse in the NICU. When he told me that, I learned all I needed to know about him. I actually learned a lot about these two while driving to the city. When Josh told me his profession, and his plan to go back to school this fall, it’s hard not to think of how sweet and caring he is, especially working with children. He loves pediatrics and will be staying in that field. Monica is a third grade teacher, so naturally she loves children too! She’s so sweet and I can tell her passion for wanting to teach. While going through school she always wanted to teach third grade and her dream is coming true this coming school year! And guess what?! They recently just bought Monica’s childhood home, which I think is awesome. How cool is it going to be to raise children in a home where you once grew up yourself! Seriously, these two just give me all the feels.
These two love the city, so it was the perfect setting for their engagement photos. Monica had been looking for the perfect spot for a particular photo, which meant that we had to go to the art museum. We also hit up art hill, The Muny (it’s where Josh proposed), a few spots where we could see Children’s Hospital in the background and we also went to a couple spots I thought of on the fly. The session seemed to fly by and before we knew it, it was over and we were headed home.
People come into your life for a reason and I believe that each of my couples come into my life for their own special reasons. Monica and Josh are no exception. I truly feel like these two are my friends now and we had the best time getting to know each other during their session. They rocked every pose I threw at them and they will be pros by the time their wedding comes around next summer.
Here’s a few of my favorites from my time with Monica and Josh.
