Fall Engagement Session – Maeystown, Illinois
I’m so ready for fall! Who’s with me? The cold temperatures lately have me wishing my time away for warmer weather. I’m sitting here currently in my warm jammies, drinking a cup of coffee and bundled up in my cozy robe typing this blog post up. I can’t wait to introduce you all to Samantha and Heath.
Samantha and Heath have been together for 10 years and they’re finally going to be tying the knot this coming October! They first met through mutual friends and Heath reached out to Samantha through Facebook messenger. It wasn’t until seven years later, with one child and one on the way, that Heath proposed. They were on a family vacation at the beach in Florida and Heath kept saying he wanted to go on a walk at sunset on the beach. They did so on the second night. As they were walking, Samantha turned around and saw that Heath was on one knee, holding their daughter Emaline, and he asked her if she’d spend the rest of her life with him. Of course she said yes and there was even a fireworks display going off near them right around that time, so it couldn’t have been more perfect!
Now Samantha and Heath have three children (all under 4) so they’re pretty busy running that household. They like going to the park, arcade and going to Target. I love me some Target too!
I remember when planning Samantha and Heath’s engagement session and Samantha asked me if she should bring the kids. I told her that it was finaly time for her and Heath to have their moment and to leave the kids at home. Family photos could take place at another time. This was their time to get dressed up and enjoy some alone time. After all, it’s been 10 years!
Maeystown was the perfect setting for their session. I can do every session there and not be mad about it. It’s so charming and beautiful. We ended up shooting clear after the sun had set. Then we talked for another 20-30 minutes about their wedding day and all they had planned. I cannot wait till October when I see these two get married.
