Winter Engagement Session – Fort Kaskaskia

Winter engagement sessions is something that I’m all about! It’s always refreshing to get back out and do photo shoots after the holidays. I welcome the break during the holidays but I’m always eager to get back behind my camera. Meghan and Ryan are getting married this coming November and they wanted to get save-the-dates out early, so that meant doing their engagement session in January.

We met up at Fort Kaskaskia and it’s probably one of the best spots to go in the winter, purely just to use the pine trees! If there would have been snow, it would have made it that much better! Meghan showed up wearing a cute dress and I gave her much props. Not many girls would show up in January wearing a dress, but she did. Ryan was wearing his cowboy hat and I loved that he stayed true to himself. Most guys don’t wear hats during their pics but he stuck to his style and that was him!

Speaking of hats, Meghan changed into her second outfit wearing a cute leopard print hat! I was a little jealous I didn’t have one too. It’s seriously so cute and I love accessories so much. It shows off personality and style. We ended their session down the hill at the Pierre Menard Home and I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of shooting there. I love it there so much. The lighting and weather was perfect for this January engagement session and I’m so excited to get these two back in front of my camera this coming November.

Here’s a few of my favorites below. Enjoy!
