Fall Engagement Session – Du Quoin, Illinois
This coming Saturday, Becca and Shyler will be getting married and I’m so excited about it. I’ve known Becca for years. She has helped me in many personal situations and she’s also the one who set Ben and I up. We’ve gotten to know each other better over the last couple years and I’m very much looking forward to when she marries her best friend this weekend.
Becca runs her own wedding planning business and when it came time to plan her own wedding she messaged me and asked if I would be her wedding photographer. I immediately got excited because I love shooting weddings for good friends. When it came time to discuss the engagement session, she and Shyler wanted to do pictures in Du Quoin. They had their first date there in town at a restaurant called the St. Nicholas Brewing Company and so naturally they wanted to incorporate that somehow into their pictures.
We met up there at the restaurant and they were so good to us there. They let us shoot wherever we wanted to and could take our time. We didn’t feel rushed at all. Shyler doesn’t really care for his picture being taken, what guy does LOL, but I could tell he was opening up real quick after a few minutes. He started laughing and smiling and he’d make silly faces at Becca. Becca would throw some silly faces back and it was fun to see them make each other laugh. They’re super cute and I loved seeing them interact with each other during their session.
After we left the restaurant, we basically just kept downtown for the rest of the session. I love the historic downtown area of Du Quoin. There’s so many great spots to shoot there and I could easily have taken 1000+ pictures there. There’s always good light and good backdrops in that town.
It was tough picking my favorites but I think I narrowed down the best of the best. Be looking forward to previews coming for their wedding this coming weekend! The weather is suppose to be beautiful and perfect for an outdoor wedding at the family farm. Stay tuned!
