St. Charles, MO Engagement Session
There’s just something about St. Charles. If you’ve been there before, you know how charming that city is. It’s the oldest town on the Mississippi River and it’s absolutely beautiful. There are man-made brick roads, cute shops and dinning and my favorite part is that it’s one of the best settings for portrait sessions. Jenna and Joe are getting married in St. Charles next month at the Foundry Art Centre and they also wanted their engagement photos to be around the city. Joe’s family is involved with the Octoberfest that gets put on every year so this location meant a lot to them. I love when locations for portrait sessions have a meaning. That doesn’t always have to be the case but I love when it does.
There is a gorgeous pavilion in Frontier Park with these amazing arches and I knew immediately that I’d be taking them there first. Jenna and Joe brought along their daughter, Vivian (who’s only a few months old). They wanted to include her into some of the portraits too. It was such a pretty day walking around. If I didn’t have to get back to work afterwards, I probably would have been shopping! We were doing great with portraits but at some point Viv didn’t want to be in that stroller anymore. I ended up just holding her on my hip with one hand and shooting with the other. I’ve had to do that before so I was up for the challenge LOL. Viv actually didn’t mind me holding her so that was a plus!
I know it was an engagement session, but I absolutely LOVE the family portraits we got. I know Jenna and Joe probably feel the same way. They have this beautiful little girl and they are about to become an official family of 3 in just a matter of a few weeks. I cannot wait to see these two say “I DO!”
