Maeystown & Family Farm Engagement Session

I’ve had the absolute joy of knowing Kailyn and Joe for quite some time now. I first met Joe when I captured his senior photos, and later, his sister Lauren’s. Fast forward a bit, and I was honored to photograph Lauren’s wedding too. Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to become part of so many special moments in the Red Bud community. Let me tell you, Red Bud weddings are something else—these folks really know how to celebrate!

Kailyn and Joe are no strangers to these celebrations either. I’ve seen them at so many weddings—sometimes as guests, sometimes as part of the wedding party. I vividly remember last summer when Kailyn ran up to me at a wedding, practically glowing, showing off her engagement ring and saying, “It finally happened!” I was over the moon for her and Joe, and not-so-secretly hoping she would reach out to me about their wedding. When I saw her email in my inbox shortly after, I was beyond thrilled.

When it came time for their engagement session, Kailyn knew she wanted the family farm as one of their locations, but we also decided on Maeystown. And wow, was that the perfect choice! The light that evening was nothing short of magical—a photographer’s dream. Kailyn and Joe have watched me pose countless couples, so they slipped into it effortlessly. We laughed, we shared stories—how they met, who made the first move, how Joe chose the perfect ring and the sweet way he proposed. Moments like these are exactly why I love what I do.

We wrapped up their session back at the farm, where Joe grew up. He pulled up his sports car for some fun shots, and we made sure to get a few with tractors from both Joe’s and Kailyn’s farms—such a perfect nod to their roots. Two farm kids falling in love—there’s just something so genuinely sweet about it. And then, there was Josie, their adorable dog, who might have just stolen the spotlight with her cuteness. Seriously, wait until you see her!
