Du Quoin, Illinois Engagement Session
Loving this weather and all the sessions that have been on my calendar lately. I could do with a little less wind and rain but that’s Spring I guess. I’m so used to working around weather for sessions and the day Raegan and Chase had their engagement session, the wind was probably around 25-30 mph. I almost reached out to Raegan to see if they maybe wanted to reschedule. I decided not to contact her because I knew they session would be great. The first thing they mentioned when I saw them was the wind but that they knew it’d be fine and they trusted me. 🙂
I met Raegan and Chase in Du Quoin for their engagement session. There are so many great locations in that town and I got to use two new places that I’ve always wanted to use. There’s a place in the fairgrounds with great trees that look good in the Spring. A lot of the trees didn’t have great leaf coverage yet but I saw this area that would be perfect and I took them there first. It’s a spot on the east side of the fairgrounds. The light was amazing coming through the trees and it was slightly cloudy which meant they wouldn’t be too squinty. The wind got a little out of control but I love the movement in Raegan’s hair and her dress. Sometimes wind totally helps! Think someone holding a fan in a studio session giving that movement. Mother Nature holds my fan LOL.
The second spot was the Coca Cola building on the fairgrounds. I saw there was a few blooming trees there so we pulled in. Just then the sun decided to show up a bit and gave the most perfect glow. You’ll see what I mean when you scroll down. I had Chase pull Raegan in for a flirty moment and I absolutely LOVE that photo so much. It’s so sweet and romantic plus that light is #chefskiss.
Their second outfit was more casual and Raegan wanted to wear her new jacket with her soon-to-be new last name. The first spot we went to in the second outfit was literally right next to a parking lot with semi trucks parked there but there were some pretty blooming trees and I just couldn’t pass it up. People probably looked at us like were were nuts shooting there but when you find good light and good blooms you just have to use it! After that we moved down on the old mainstreet by the old movie theater. There are some great spots around there. Give me all the string lights and brick texture! I could shoot every session in Du Quoin and not even be mad about it. I’m so happy with how Raegan and Chase’s engagement session went. They had fun and that’s the number one goal.
Enjoy scrolling through all of my favorites of Raegan and Chase.
