Jacob + Cassidy | A Wedding At The Conservatory – St. Charles, MO

Remember a couple weeks ago when I posted engagement pictures for Jacob and Cassidy? Well, the next day was their wedding day! Seriously! It was a small and intimate wedding which is definitely different than most of the weddings that I shoot. On average I would say that I have weddings with about 250-300 guests, but Jacob and Cassidy decided on a small wedding with just immediate family.

Downtown St. Louis, on Washington Avenue, is where Jacob and Cassidy live and that’s where I met them. It was a full morning of breakfast, hair, makeup, shooting details and getting ready. It’s also where they decided to see each other before we all went over to St. Charles for the ceremony. The first look was simple and done in front of their bookshelf. They both LOVE to read and Cassidy wanted to incorporate the books into their wedding day somehow. I also used the bookcase for the background of her wedding dress shot. You’ll see that below.

The ceremony took place at The Conservatory in St. Charles, MO. I was just there not too long ago for another wedding so I knew my way around the place, which was a plus. You only have a short amount of time to be there so you have to move quickly in terms of photography. Since the bridal party was small I got a LOT of time with Jacob and Cassidy which meant I was able to get a lot of portraits. After there ceremony, we ended the evening at the restaurant Copia Restaurant and & Wine Garden, also on Washington Avenue in St. Louis. It’s a really classy restaurant known for their wine selection and it was the perfect setting for an intimate wedding dinner. Even though it was a small wedding, they still cut a cake and they still danced their first dance as husband and wife. It was really a special day and I’m so honored that I got to be apart of it.
