IT’S FALL!!!!! And that means one thing. I’M SUPER BUSY! But I love every minute of it. It’s also that time of year when the air spells like bonfires and hoodies. It’s my favorite time of year for so many reasons. The weddings this time of year are gorgeous too. The weather is perfect and the light is golden. Dax and Chelsea were married on one of those gorgeous, golden autumn days a couple weeks ago. I met the girls at the salon where they were getting their hair done and makeup done. Then it was off to the hotel to get Chelsea in her dress. It was probably the fastest a bride has ever gotten ready! I felt like we were only in the hotel room for like 20 minutes!
Since the fairgrounds had some other events going on, we decided to go to another location for portraits. Dax and Chelsea decided to do a “first look” and I was so thrilled that they chose that option. I have a TON of pictures of them and their bridal party. We had probably 2 hours for pictures and that’s a photographers dream!!!! The light was perfect coming through the trees and the location actually fit the theme of their wedding perfectly.
Their ceremony and reception both took place at the expo hall at the Du Quoin Fairgrounds and it was my first time doing a wedding there. It’s quite the venue!!! It’s huge and they had decorations everywhere! I don’t know how they did it. I swear I took detail shots for like a whole hour before the ceremony because every time I turned around I saw something new. Every table was decorated with wildflowers, mason jars and burlap. So simple but elegant at the same time. And don’t even get me started on their dessert table! They had a cake, cupcakes, pie and cookies!!!! I won’t lie to you, I think I sampled everything LOL.
I’m so honored that Dax and Chelsea picked me to be apart of their big day. I know wedding days go by so quick but I’m hoping that they look back through these pictures for years to come and remember that feeling they had when they said “I DO”.
Enjoy looking through my favorites from their BIG day.
