Brandon + Brooke | Shabby Chic Wedding

Living in a small town has its pros and cons. It means that EVERYONE knows everyone, school systems are small enough where you go every year with the same 30-50 kids and if you get engaged to someone, the news spreads like wildfire around town. I grew up in the same town as Brandon and Brooke and in fact Brooke’s sister is only a year younger than me so we went through school together. I’ve known both of their families well and when Brandon and Brooke started dating, it was a relationship that was meant to stay strong and lead to where it is today. when I saw Brooke post on Facebook that she was engaged, I couldn’t be happier for them.

They were engaged in 2012 and we did their engagement pictures that fall which seems like forever ago! Back then their original wedding date was set for May 17 but changed it to the 10th a while later. So if you go back and look at some of their engagement pictures you’ll see signs with the 17th on them. This past Saturday, on May 10, was an amazing spring day that seemed like it would never come. Brooke was ready to walk down the isle and finally become Mrs. Smith! Both of her parents walked her down the isle and the ceremony was absolutely beautiful. Since Brandon is on the Steeleville Fire Department, naturally a fire truck was the vehicle of choice to take the bridal party around town. When guests arrived to the reception, they walked into a beautiful room filled with chabby chic decor and a HUGE table filled with fruits and vegetables to snack on. The hall was decorated by Brandon and Brooke and their amazing families. I loved the feel of the room and how romantic it felt. They really outdid themselves.

I love my job so much but shooting weddings for couples that I personally know is always an honor and so much fun. It’s like attending a reunion and catching up with old friends! And that is one of the pros why living in a small town is amazing. Congratulations to Brandon and Brooke!
