Mark + Melissa | Country Farm Engagement Session

May 30, 2014

Filed in: Uncategorized

This past weekend I took engagement pictures for another amazing couple that will be getting married this summer. I was given an address to a farm just outside of Steeleville. It’s a farm that I see quite often when I ride bikes with my dad or drive around the backroads on a nice day. What I didn’t know is that the people who lived on this farm are apparently related to me… long distantly! I had no idea. I pulled up and was greeted by Melissa and Mark and Melissa told me that it was a small world. I was related to Mark! His mom was actually outside as well doing some yard work and we talked for a bit and got to know each other a little better. We all got along so great too, which I think we would have even if we hadn’t just had the discussion about being related.

Moving on to the session. Mark’s family has this amazing farm with nice sheds and a beautiful lake. I immediately had ideas running through my head and asked about outfit choices that Mark and Melissa had. Mark just said that he was along for the ride and that we would do whatever Melissa wanted. He already knows how this whole “marriage” thing works LOL. We started over by the lake and quickly moved around the property. It was a beautiful morning but was starting to get a tad bit muggy outside. You would never guess that it was getting hot though from these amazing pictures. By the end of the session, Mark was great at the “nuzzle” shots. He was rocking out every idea I gave him and never complained once. I think he actually had a good time! As for Melissa, well she was stunning in every picture, especially when she was in her blue dress. That color just pops on her and the red barn. You’ll see for yourself when you look below.

They’ll be saying “I DO” this coming July and I cannot wait! Till then, enjoy looking through my favorites from their engagement session.

LOVE these!

The ring is sitting on a water spicket.

I stayed around for a bit to play with Gus and threw sticks for him to fetch in the lake.
