So last weekend was pretty special. I watched my best friend from college get married! That’s right…. married! It was so nice spending time with her and her family. I made the drive up Friday to help decorate the hall for the reception, which is a disaster. It was raining so hard I couldn’t see 2 feet in front of me. It normally takes me about 2 hours or so to get to her house and it took me almost 4 hours. With all the rain, there were road closures because of flooding and Emily kept stressing about how people were going to get to the wedding. I told her to just relax and that things would work out how they were suppose to. And I was right. When we woke up Saturday morning, we got a call from Linda, Emily’s mom, and she said that the roads were opened up so everything was good to go.
After hair and makeup, we loaded up and headed for the ceremony site. It took place at Indian Camp Creek in Wentzville, MO. You might remember it from looking at Jon and Emily’s engagement pictures. Emily didn’t want to get her dress wrinkled sitting in the car, so she decided that she would rather get dressed at the venue. Her dad rigged up a dressing room for her made of tarp and her family all helped hold it up while she got ready. It was so darn hot but we made the best of it.
The ceremony was short but beautiful but again, it was so hot that everything went sort of fast. We sent everyone off to the reception while Jon, Emily and I headed downtown Old Monroe, MO for some more photographs. There was this fabulous bridge that we used and then went buy the baseball field. The whole day went by so fast but I remember thinking to myself how thrilled I was for Emily to be married. I’m so happy for her and Jon and I cannot wait to see what’s in store for them.
I’m so excited to show you my favorites from their wedding day. I hope you all have a great weekend!
