Jesse + Kelly | A Summer Wedding in Waterloo, Illinois

July 2, 2015

Filed in: Uncategorized

This blog post is going up a tad bit later than I expected but you see, it’s my birthday and I slept in a tiny bit and then I fixed a really great breakfast. I guess I treated myself a bit because I hardly ever get to sleep in. But this whole time I’ve been excited to show you this wedding. Jesse and Kelly were married last Saturday on one of the most gorgeous days we’ve had this summer so far. I realize it just started but when it’s the last weekend in June and the temperatures are in the upper 70s  and lower 80s then you can’t complain. The groomsmen were happy because they weren’t too hot in their tuxedos and the bridesmaids didn’t have to worry about their makeup or hair with humidity. It was simply the perfect day.

Kelly’s family is hilarious and they made me feel very welcome when I showed up at their home. That’s where I shot all of the details and Kelly getting into her dress. Then I met up with the boys at the church, St. Paul UCC in Waterloo. It’s a beautiful church but we did all of the portraits outside because it was just too beautiful not to. Everything went smoothly and after a beautiful ceremony, I followed the party bus for portraits to a location I have never been to before. Kelly told me about this old church that’s basically in ruins now. There’s no roof or door but the stones are still there and it’s honestly the most fabulous place I think I’ve ever been. When we pulled up to it, I think I about cried because I knew the amazing photos that were about to take place! UGH I can’t even describe how beautiful it was…. you’ll just have to see for yourself.

The night ended up at Turner Hall in Columbia, IL and it was a first time I was shooting there too. Seriously, it was amazing! Nice low ceilings for my flash to bounce off too! After an amazing meal, we all watched as Jesse and Kelly took their first dance as HUSBAND and WIFE and it was magical. You can just tell how much in love they are and it’s why I love my job so much. I get to be surrounded by amazing people and storybook love and there’s nothing better than that.

I hope you all love these pictures as much as I do and I’m so honored that Jesse and Kelly chose me to tell their love story. I hope you all enjoy your holiday weekend. Remember to stay safe! Happy 4th of July!!!1

Oh how I love the color purple!

Kelly, don’t kill me but I just had to post this! You’re too cute!

How the veil floated…..

Trying to get the “wave” started….

There goes the garter….

And it fell right into the cup of Kelly’s brother!
