I love backyard weddings. The opportunity to shoot backyard weddings doesn’t come along all that often and when it does a small part of me jumps for joy and I get excited. The light outdoors is obviously better but what I love about it is that it feels more romantic. That’s exactly how Matt and Kristen’s wedding felt…. romantic.
As I pulled up to Kristen’s parents house, I immediate saw this huge white tent with lights strung all through it with blush pink lanterns hanging and flowing in the wind. Round tables were covered with a navy colored tablecloth and centerpieces that had a lovebird theme. Birdcages, wreaths, candles and flowers with frames with tables numbers in them. The sweetheart table where Matt and Kristen would sit was clovered with a gold sequin tablecloth (which I loved) and it matched the cake table. You can never have too much bling in my opinion LOL.
When it came time for the ceremony to begin, Kristen’s dad brought her by horse and carriage! It was so sweet and after her dad walked her down the isle, he kissed her hand as he gave her away and it was one of the sweetest moments I’ve seen between and father and daughter. The ceremony had a minor hiccup with the wishing lantern. It caught fire and then got stuck in a tree! It might not have gone as planned but Matt and Kristen just laughed it off.
The evening was ended was an amazing meal, delicious cake, great tunes and a super fun photo booth. If you haven’t heard of Fish Eye Fun then you need to look them up RIGHT NOW. They are out of St. Louis and it’s the most fun I’ve had at a wedding in a long time. You would think that would be enough though…. WRONG! At 10pm, Matt and Kristen had a fireworks show for their guests. It was amazing and a perfect ending to a wonderful day. I’m so honored to be apart of this wedding and I hope you enjoy looking through my favorites because it’s one of my all time favs!
Time for the “first look”.
Matt got a little bit emotional. He just kept saying that Kristen took his breath away. So sweet.
Love this picture of Matt. Looking sharp!
Kristen, you are beautiful!
