Nathan + Megan | An Engagement Session At The Lake

When I started shooting weddings, I knew right away how I wanted to connect with my brides. The basic hire and shoot wedding idea seemed cold to me and I wanted to become friends with my brides and get to know them better. After all, I am capturing one of the most important days in their lives so it makes sense for me to need to be close and understand them. On the day of a wedding, I don’t just walk in as the photographer…I walk in as a friend and it’s also the time where I get to meet all the bridesmaids, mothers, etc. Well, Megan has been a bridesmaid in many weddings that I’ve captured over the years and when she contacted me to shoot her own wedding I was overwhelmed with excitement. You see, I’ve known Megan for so long, and her fiancé Nathan, so this whole process has already been started a long time ago.

When I met up with Nathan and Megan this past weekend, it was comfortable and I wasn’t a stranger and it made them open up more and become confident in front of my lens. It was amazing! They are the cutest couple ever and I had so much fun capturing their love and personalities. The way Nathan looks at Megan just wants to melt your heart and when Nathan wraps his arms around Megan you can see just how safe she feels and how excited she is to have him stand beside her through live.

These two are getting married the end of May and I cannot wait. It’s going to be such a beautiful event and since I know their families and friends it’ll be a party for me too. What fun we’re going to have!
