C.J. + Callie | Giant City Lodge Engagement Session

November 16, 2017

Filed in: Engagements

How is it the middle of November already? Time is seriously getting away from me lately and I feel like I haven’t blogged in a while. But that’s about to change because I’m getting ready to show you some super pretty images from C.J. and Callie’s engagement session. I first heard from Callie back in June and I knew from the minute I got her email that we would be a good fit. She and I started discussing ideas for the engagement session and she mentioned that she and C.J. would love a fall session. I had a few ideas on location running thorough my head and so I suggested we go to Giant City Lodge. It’s absolutely beautiful in the fall. If you’ve never been there before, you definitely need to plan a day to head there, especially for the food! I myself have never eaten there before, but the smell of their fried chicken (and lots of great reviews from friends and family) is to die for.

As I made my way south to Carbondale, I quickly became excited when I turned on the road leading up to the lodge. The trees were breathtaking and I got all excited. The lighting was perfect and even though I hadn’t really discussed outfit ideas with Callie, I knew she’d pick something perfect for the fall portraits. I was right, and C.J. and Callie showed up looking their best. I absolutely loved Callie’s burgundy dress with the bell sleeves. And those boots… you just wait!

Now, I always pride myself on being able to make my couples comfortable and relaxed in from of my camera. I like to try and make them laugh and open up a bit. Well, I definitely gave C.J. and Callie something to laugh at when I stepped back on the curb and completely lost my balance and fell. I like to think that I rolled back and popped up in some sort of sweet ninja move, but I’m sure to them it was absolutely hilarious… and I’m totally fine with that. I was fine. I didn’t even drop the camera! After a good laugh we moved right along with the rest of their session.

I had the best time with these two and I’m so happy with how their photos turned out. Scroll below to see some of my favorites.

My favorite! Just look at those colors! And that cute couple 🙂

Gorgeous ring!

Yep, I took the plunge right before this shot.
