Kaci + Jason | Navy & Coral Summer Wedding

August 9, 2018

Filed in: Weddings

Excessive heat warnings are not what a bride thinks about when she’s planning her dream wedding. Every bride thinks about the perfect dress, her makeup, what her best friends will wear, what venue she’ll walk down the isle and what food will best be served. But never the thought of excessive heat warnings. Well, that’s exactly what Kaci got on her wedding day. She and Jason planned a July wedding, so naturally there would be heat. But when the weather guy announces that you probably shouldn’t be outside that particular day, you simply just have to take it for what it is and pack coolers full of water.

Even though the weather was incredible humid and warm, the day was absolutely perfect. From the beautiful flowers designed by Twyla Schulte, the assortment of navy bridesmaids dresses from David’s Bridal, the tailored Ralph Lauren suits from Macy’s, and Kaci’s stunning bridal gown, also from David’s Bridal. There were so many other amazing vendors that I worked with as well: J&L Salon, DJ Sutt, Turner Hall in Columbia, IL and Oak 9 Productions. I get asked all the time if I like working along side of videography teams, like Oak 9 Productions, and my answer is always yes! We both play off each others ideas and when you have more ideas, the bride and groom get more product delivered. It’s a win-win in my book.

After a beautiful ceremony at St. Boniface Catholic church in Evansville, IL, we made our way to Red Bud for some bridal party and bride/groom portraits. The Office and The Lieferbräu Brewery were two placed Kaci and Jason wanted to stop at. They also wanted to the picture where you stop traffic at the 4-way stop in town. It’s a Red Bud thing, so if you’re from there you probably already know what that is. The next stop was to take a few more portraits at the Old Baum Church in Waterloo before heading to the reception. The Old Baum Church is a VERY old church with no roof or windows and it’s basically just stone standing with ivy growing everywhere. It’s an absolute breathtaking spot to take pictures, or even have a wedding. There were still hay bales still in there from a wedding that had taken place earlier that day! You’ll see how amazing it is when you scroll down below.

The night ended up at Turner Hall in Columbia, IL. Festivities began with a welcome speech from Kaci’s father, then the speeches/toasts from the best man and 3 matrons of honor. They all said something individually… something short and sweet. But THEN things got real! They wrote out their own lyrics to the music of some very familiar songs. I wish I had a video clip of the whole thing to post here because it was so darn fun! It really started the party off right. As I looked around one last time before I made my way home, all remember seeing was smiles upon everyone’s faces. Conversations were being held at numerous tables, family was catching up with each other, college roomies and softball buddies of Kaci’s were taking selfies. What better feeling is there for a bride and groom to look around a room like that knowing that every single person they loved was there celebrating with them on one of the biggest days of their lives? Kaci and Jason had a lot of family and friends celebrating with all night and it’s really such a blessing. I think sometimes weddings get stressful and details need to be perfect, but for Kaci and Jason, they simply loved being surrounded by their favorite people.

Enjoy looking through some of my favorites from Kaci and Jason’s wedding day!

  • There was a bidding war on who would get cake smashed in their face. Jason lost LOL

The pictures truly do capture the wedding day! Kaci was breathtakingly beautiful and Jason was just as handsome as she was beautiful. It was a perfect day, ceremony and the reception was charming. The head table was beautiful, all lit up and every table had a variety of centerpieces. My table had an actual cake that was cut and served! Wonderfully done. Not a detail was over looked. Kai and Jason looked so happy, as you can see in the pictures. Love to you both!
