Online dating. Have you tried it before? Do you know anyone who has? You may have heard bad online dating stories from your friends and family, but for Stephanie and Ben it was the beginning of their love story. They met using Match.com and they were each other’s first connection using the dating site. I don’t know who messaged who first, but regardless of the details their relationship was bound to happen. I truly believe when the time is right for that special someone to come into your life, everything just falls into place.

When planning a location for Stephanie and Ben’s engagement session, we settled on Giant City Lodge because they wanted something with nature since it would look good for fall. And they live down in that direction so it was great to meet up there. Stephanie and Ben were off the week of Thanksgiving so it was easy to find a day that worked for all of us. I even suggested shooting first thing in the morning for good lighting and they were totally game for it. It’s rare to get a couple moving early in the morning for pictures, and when I succeed in doing that, it’s totally worth it!

Not only did they rock their session, but their pup Lorelai rocked her photos as well. Stephanie asked right away if they could bring the dog along for a few pics and of course I said yes. I love when couples bring their fur babies. I have my own fur baby, a Siamese mixed cat named Huck, so I know the love of wanting to do a few pics with your pet.
