The last Buch sister is married!!! It’s so bittersweet writing that. I can remember way back in the early years of my photography business when twins booked me for senior portraits. That’s when it all started with the Buch family. After Savannah and Sierra’s senior session, which went very well, their sister Samantha got engaged and then that’s when I really got to know everyone a little better. I taken Samantha and Sierra’s wedding photos, some family photos and two weeks ago I took Savannah and Ryan’s wedding photos! Honestly, every time I see this family I’m welcomed in with open arms and it’s like a family reunion. When you run a business, you never realize the kind of friendships you’ll make along the way and the Buch family is among those on top on my list that I’ve come to adore and who I’ve come pretty close with.
Okay, enough with the sappy talk LOL. You’re all here to see Savannah and Ryan’s wedding photos, not read all my rambles. I am so excited to share with you their wedding day. It was a beautiful day except there was wind out of this world. When I say wind, I mean like 20mph+ winds that we had to work around. Sav and Ryan were married at the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Red Bud, IL. It’s a beautiful church and I so badly wanted to shoot in front of the church (the best lighting) but it was like a darn wind tunnel so that was out. Luckily there were trees on the side of the church that made for a pretty backdrop.
Before heading to the reception we had two stops to make. One was to stop traffic at the square (if you live in Red Bud, you know all about this) and the second place was the Red Bud Winery. So we get to the square (with party confetti cannons), I have the bridal party all ready to go and when I yell READY… GO they all ran out, except a red suv thought we were yelling at them to go and there was almost an incident LOL. Nothing happened and everyone is safe and we got the coolest shot of them all showing their “excited face” when the confetti cannons shot off. And you know what… the wind just quit in that moment! It had been blowing like a hurricane all day but in that one moment it went away and the confetti floated all around them perfectly and horns were honking in excitement. It was seriously so much fun to see all that confetti flowing down around them. Sorry to the city of Red Bud for the silver metallic confetti (I’m pretty sure it’s biodegradable LOL) Some of my favorite shots of the day are when we stopped at the winery. Wide open spaces and trees are my favorite backdrop to shoot and when you have a good looking couple like Sav and Ryan, it’s hard to NOT get a good shot.
The night ended at the Hecker Community Center with some of the best food around. The crew there prepare some of the best food around. I’ll list the other vendors below but I just have to say the whole day was absolutely beautiful… and I’m not just saying that because purple is my favorite color!
Enjoy some of my favorites below. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
