Fall Engagement Session at the SIUE Gardens
I got a message one day through my Facebook fan page and it was from Hannah. She asked me if I was available for a specific date for her wedding. When I replied and told her I was available, she just asked for a wedding agreement right then and there. Most of the time I email and talk with brides before booking, because I share the full wedding pricing and info guide, and there’s questions asked, etc. But Hannah checked out my website, saw everything she needed to see and she made her decision. I love a bride who knows what she wants! When I asked Hannah if she was referred to me by anyone (I always try to remember that ask that LOL), she told me that she just did a search on Facebook for photographers and I came up. She loved my work and messaged me after that. So thanks to Facebook, I now have new friends!
I got to officially meet Hannah and her fiance, Matt, the first week of November at the SIUE Gardens. They live about 2+ hours from me and so we decided to meet halfway. The only place I could think of in that area was the SIUE Gardens and when I suggested it, they loved the idea. If you have never been there before, you really should go check it out. One of my favorite parts of the gardens is the pond and it’s got a pretty dye in the water that makes it this turquoise color. It’s dreamy and was the perfect setting for Hannah and Matt’s engagement session.
I know I talk about weather a lot on these blog posts, but weather can play a huge part in a session, especially for a natural light photographer like myself. It sprinkled on us a little bit during their session and I kept praying to God to just let us get through the session and then He could let it rain all night LOL. God was so gracious to us and the session went perfectly. The trees were absolutely perfect and Hannah and Matt lucked out on having one of the best days for fall foliage to be in its prime.
It was so much fun finally getting to meet Hannah and Matt in person. I cannot wait for spring to get here so I can get these two in front on my camera again. Enjoy looking through some of my favorites 🙂
