Watertower Winery | Ste. Genevieve, Missouri

Happy New Year! I have enjoyed a little bit of time off through the holidays and the first part of the year but it’s officially time to get back to the grind and start blogging again. I’m so excited to share Brandi and Luke’s wedding day with you all.

Brandi and Luke were married in October at the Watertower Winery in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. It was the first time shooting there for me and you know how I love taking pictures at new venues. The property has so many places for good portraits except we couldn’t use them because it was raining all day. I’m not just talking a little bit of rain. I’m talking like pouring down rain ALL. DAY. LONG. Luckily there was a covered patio section outside of the tasting room so we made that work for portraits before the ceremony. The ceremony took place in the barn which was decorated with lanterns, bales of hay and mums. Burgundy and blush were the wedding colors and everything turned out so beautiful. I prayed all day that there would be an opening after the ceremony where we could take outdoor portraits without any rain and my prayer was answered! We had like an hour to do bridal party and bride/groom pics at the Pierre Menard Home in Ellis Grove, Illinois on our way to the reception in Steeleville at the American Legion. Brandi was so excited because I know she wanted a LOT of pictures with her and Luke and she was worried that wasn’t going to happen. I promised her that nothing was going to stop us from getting beautiful images on her wedding day.

Everything worked out perfectly and I’m so excited to show you my favorites from Brandi and Luke’s big day. I love being a part of weddings for so many reasons, but one of the main reasons is because I love capturing joy and happiness. Wedding days can be stressful and the rain that day made everyone a little stressed, but at the end of the day, two people who fell in love stood in front of all of their closest friends and family and promised to love one another for the rest of their lives. There’s nothing sweeter than getting to be a part of that. I just love LOVE 🙂

Congratulations to Brandi and Luke!
