Rotary Park & Bricktown Engagement Session – Sparta, Illinois

It’s November and I’m excited for that for two reasons. One reason is because it’s the month for Thanksgiving and I LOVE Thanksgiving. The other reason is because I have 2 weddings. I don’t normally have a lot of November weddings but this year has been the year for unexpected events so here we go.

I’ve known Taylor and her family for years. We grew up in the same town. Her father was actually my science teacher back when I was in junior high and I’ve gotten to watch Taylor grow up through the years. Eric comes from a large family and I know a lot of them as well. I think this wedding is going to be so much fun to be a part of because I know most of them! That will be one fun reception, let me tell ya!

By pure luck, we found the most perfect day for Taylor and Eric’s engagement session. It was pretty much the last available day I had in October and their schedules allowed it and it was before all the rain hit which meant that the leaves were still perfect! It’s always fun getting to take engagement and wedding photos for someone that you personally know because the couples are always more comfortable and relaxed (since you’re not a complete stranger). Taylor’s laugh is contagious and she’s always bubbly and fun. Eric is the opposite, all quiet and not bubbly at all. They’re the perfect fit as a couple and they compliment each other so well.

I had the best time with these two and now that we’ve practiced some posing for their engagement session, they’re now pros for their wedding day! Wedding days go by so quickly and timelines don’t always go as planned, so it’s nice to know core poses and how your photographer works ahead of the big day. Can’t wait to get these two in front of my camera again. Enjoy looking through my favorites below!
