Randolph County Lake Engagement Session

I’m so excited to share with you Holly and Damian’s engagement session. I’ve known Holly for years and she takes photos, too. She’s always booked me for fall or spring mini sessions and I love how excited she gets about photography. When Damian popped the question and she asked if I was available to shoot their wedding day, I was so happy for a couple reasons. One, because I was generally happy for her. And two, because I knew that I was going to have a bride who values photography and wants that as a priority for her wedding planning. I feel like all of my brides are totally on board with that too, but since Holly knows photography herself, we just get each other.

I knew that Holly and Damian were wanting fall engagement photos and with everything going on the calendar kind of got away from both of us. We finally landed on a day in November and that morning was a bit of a rainy and wet one. I had no problem with it because I love soft light on a morning in the fall. The tree colors are always a bit more vibrant when they are wet so everything was looking perfect. Randolph County Lake was the location of choice and it’s a place I always seem to forget about! When I remember to suggest it I always think to myself that I need to use it more often because it really does have some great spots.

We walked around Randolph County Lake all morning but I have to say my favorite shots are of the ones in the second outfit when we found the opening of a trail. For a couple wanting fall engagement pictures, Holly and Damian won the fall lottery because it’s always hard to tell when the leaves will actually change around here.
