Maeystown Engagement Session
I am so behind on blogging and that’s totally not me. I keep telling myself that I’m going to get a blog post up every day till I’m caught up with all of my fall weddings, and the weddings/engagement sessions I’ve shot so far this year, but it’s so hard to juggle working full time and run a business on the side… and still try to make everyone happy and not feeling guilty about not seeing my family and friends much. I should have shared this session a LONG time ago but better late than never… right? I mean, Kayla and Matt are getting married in 2 DAYS… so there’s no better time than the present.
II have known Kayla for a few years now. She’s the sister-in-law of one of my best friends and when my bestie, Lindsey, got married, I finally got to meet Kayla in person. She’s super sweet and so bubbly (just like me) so we get along great. With all the wedding planning we’ve kept in great contact with one another. She and I started texting each other right away about the options for her and Matt’s engagement session. They live in Texas so it had to be planned around a time they’d be visiting family. They also wanted something fun, romantic and light and airy. I suggested taking them in the charming little town of Maeystown and she immediately said YES. I was very much looking forward to meeting with Matt, too, because we haven’t really talked much.
I always tell my couples to wear their dressier outfit first and then they will change into their more casual outfit second. Kayla showed up in this cute floor length dress and I LOVE flowy dresses. They are flattering on everyone, they give movement and they’re fun to twirl in. I actually forgot to have them do a twirling shot in that dang dress, but oh well I guess. Don’t you worry though, there will be twirling on their wedding day! Even though Matt was pretty quiet during the session, I think he really had a great time. He’s like most of my other grooms which is totally normal and every time I had him look over at Kayla he just smiled from ear to ear. They’re so dang cute and super photogenic that I easily could have taken pictures all evening. I kept having ideas I should have done driving home that evening too. I think that’s probably what most other wedding photographers do too LOL.
It was a hard time choosing favorites but I think I narrowed it down. I love fall and the colors of the trees but I also love their first outfit too. Ugh, the choices I tell ya! Enjoy scrolling through their session. Be sure to check back to see my favorites from their wedding day.
