The Pour Vineyard – Red Bud, Illinois
There’s do doubt about it, I love weddings. I always have. I can remember as a little girl going to weddings and sitting there before the ceremony wondering what the bride and bridesmaids do all morning and what did their dresses look like. Did the groomsmen really go golfing like they did in the movies? The thing I was always excited to see was the bride’s gown! I always wanted to be a fly on the wall just to see what all takes place on a wedding day. As an adult and after 12 years as a wedding photographer, I sometimes have to pinch myself because I’m literally getting to do something that I wanted to do as a little girl.
Samantha and Heath’s wedding was absolutely beautiful. Of course it was beautiful visually, but it was beautiful in so many other ways. The way Heath looked at Samantha when he turned around during their first look. Beautiful doesn’t even describe the moments when they said their vows to one another with their children watching beside them. After doing their first dance with one another, they also shared a first dance with their children. Out of all the beautiful moments I witnessed that day, I think my favorite has to be, hands down, the moments they were with their children doing portraits and the swans started to swim towards them. Weddings + Swans = Perfection.
When I left that evening, the wine was still being poured, the dance floor was full and Samantha and Heath were finally married. It was been a long time coming (see their engagement blog here). I also left with a full heart and was grinning ear to ear because I just couldn’t wait to import and see the images. Enjoy looking at their beautiful wedding day from my perspective.
