Forest Park Engagement Session – St. Louis, MO

Forest Park is one of my favorite locations to take portraits. There are a ton of different locations within Forest Park and they’re all amazing. When a couple asks me if I will take their engagement pictures there, I’m always going to respond with a big YES. Madeleine and Broc are the sweet couple. I met them for the very first time that day. I realize most couples are nervous about taking pictures in the first place, but they were probably as nervous to meet me as I was with them. This is the #1 reason why I love doing engagement sessions. It’s the perfect time to get to know each other a little better and also the time to learn my shooting style.

We started off at The Muny. It’s one of my favorites spots in the park for many reasons. It’s easy to find/park, the landscaping is gorgeous and the ticket booth area is dreamy with all the natural light coming through in the evening. Madeleine and Broc were pros after the first few shots. Seriously! They’re super photogenic and made my job super easy. I could have taken pictures there all evening but we had to keep moving along LOL. There were many more places to go. Our next spot was the Boat House which is located pretty much right next to The Muny. We parked and walked over to some beautiful blooming trees with white flowers. Spring flowers are my favorite and when you can find a good blooming tree, you take pictures by it! The thing about Forest Park is that you’re pretty much going to be doing pictures with people watching because people are everywhere. Madeleline and Broc didn’t let that bother them at all!

Our next spot was at the Art Museum and then ended up at the Great Basin at the bottom of art hill. When they changed into their more casual outfit, it’s like they walked up and just knew what to do from there on out. I’m telling you, it doesn’t take long to get comfortable in front of my camera. It’s my main goal. I want my clients to not only feel comfortable but I also want them to have a great time. By the end of the session, I knew they had a great time and I spent the whole way home wishing I had a driver so I could have imported their images to start editing right away!

I have a ton of favorites but I picked the best of the best to show you below. These two are getting married in a month and I cannot wait to see them again and celebrate with all of their friends and family. Have a happy and safe holiday weekend!
